Oder 2013/2016
tents, video 2:35

Intervention in the natur reserve Unteres Odertal, near Frankfurt/Oder

The object appears at dawn on the horizon. Intertwined igloo tents form an amorphous conglomerate that drifts quietly and unmanned downstream on the Oder, one of the last free-flowing rivers in Europe. The Oder is a German-Polish border river and as a unique river landscape a nature reserve. There is no obvious start or goal of the object. The longer it is left to the flow, the more it can trigger an uneasy feeling. It could prove to be a Trojan horse and turn out to be the uncontrollable proliferation of a camping scene when stranded.
